Editing

As the telephone interviewing is completed, questionnaires are
reviewed by the supervisory staff, then turned over to the editing
department to assure completeness and clarity. Callbacks are
made if required.

Because proper interpretation of data is mandatory to the total
accuracy of the study, members of the editing staff are carefully
selected and personally trained by the project directors.

Coding

While the interviewing is in progress, but after the editing of data
is completed, questionnaires are processed by our coders, who establishes codes for all
opened-ended questions; and further prepares all data for computer processing. This procedure consists of:

Development of Content Analysis codes from a random sample of verbatim comments (with sample size dependent upon the size of the study).

Review of all codes by the Project Director on the CRT studies. Individual completed interviews are printed out and reviewed by supervisors and project directors in order to verify programming. Open ends are edited in the same way a hard copy interview is handled.

Transmittal of code sheets to the client for final approval.
One hundred percent (100%) of the work done by the coder on the first day is checked by the coding supervisor and spot checks are made thereafter.
